1. Gently separate the case with a flat screwdriver
2. Carefully set aside the half that has the flip metal key
3. Separate the remaining half with the screwdriver
4. Remove the battery, make note of which way the positive and negative sides are facing
5. Replace the battery
6. Press the shell until it snaps back
7. Put the two halves of the fob back togethe

Note: If your car doesn't recognize your key fob once you've changed the battery, insert the key into the driver's side door. Use the key to unlock and then lock the door manually. From there, remove the key from the door and press the "unlock" button.

Audi Smart Keyless Entry Remote Battery Replacement

For this swap, you'll need a CR2032 battery for your Audi Smart Keyless Entry Remote. These steps will guide you: 

1. Press down the key release button found on the chrome part of the fob
2. Remove the metal key from the shell
3. Grip the exposed plastic of the battery holder with your thumb and carefully remove it from the key fob
4. Remove the battery while noting the position of its positive and negative sides
5. Swap in a fresh battery in the correct position
6. Add the battery holder back inside the shell
7. Reinsert the metal key

Audi Remote Battery Replacement 

This Audi key fob also requires one CR2032 battery. To change the battery, follow the steps here:

1. Open the metal key
2. Press the back cover of the key using a small screwdriver
3. Pop up the back cover at the end of the fob
4. Remove the back cover, you should find the battery inside
5. Pull out the battery, be sure to remember the orientation
6. Replace the battery in the proper position
7. Put the cover back on the key fob

How to Program Your Audi Key Fob
